While hippo™ is designed to be as user-friendly as possible, issues frequently arise that require technical expertise beyond what is available at typical healthcare facilities. We offer free, unlimited email support to all clients, however some issues require better and faster support than can be communicated through emails. Phone support calls are charged on an hourly basis and can sometimes get expensive for a small business. Maintenance agreements allow you to control the costs of support of your critical software and, at the same time, ensure a timely response to your needs.
The hippo™ server component requires Microsoft XP Professional or greater. Hosting the server component at our site enables you to get started without this requirement. You can be up and going almost immediately. Our technicians handle all the setup and technical requirements necessary to get you going right away. One advantage of using our hosting services is SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer. This provides an additional layer of security. All communications between your computers and our hosting servers are encrypted with the same level of security that is commonly found on E-commerce sites. It's an added level of protection that, alone, is worth the hosting costs.
Additionally, hosted customers are able to take advantage of scheduled backups of their data. Our technicians ensure timely scheduled backups of your data and relieve you of the burden. Hard copies of the backups are available on CDs or other media and can be mailed to you on any schedule you require. This safeguards your data (and your valuable time) in the case of computer failure, natural disaster, etc. Keeping hard copies at our location as well as your location ensures that the data is not lost.
